Our team has extensive experience in the design, procurement and installation of upgrades in the power generation sector. We recently completed work for a longstanding client in the industry, for whom we regularly carry out work across Europe.
The client’s scope was to complete electrical and instrumentation installation and upgrade works within the UK, as well as ATEX inspections during the planned outage. Increased levels of labour and a fast turn around were a necessity, due to the high-profile nature of the client’s outage.
There was a tight deadline to minimise any disruption caused by the outage, so our team assisted with this by undertaking as much pre outage work and preparation as possible before the planned outage occurred.
We coordinated our works with other contractors within restricted spaces to ensure the outage ran smoothly.
During the outage we provided 20-25 experienced CompEx approved Electricians working on day and night shifts in order to minimise any disruptions during the outage.
From start to finish the works took over 2 years, the majority of which was pre-outage and prolonged due to the pandemic. The preparation was a success as we completed the work during the outage within just 4 weeks.
Our knowledge and experience of the client’s site and systems and meticulous preparation proved to be invaluable to ensure the works were completed to the tight schedule.
